The flavors come through wonderfully in the taste and it leaves a very pleasant room note as well. This is what I call a pleasing blend. So, I took out the bag and in the pouch, upon opening was the most pleasant smelling, Vanilla, Licorice like aroma in a very dark black cavendish. It does require quite a bit of drying time before it's ready to be stoked but it has a surprisingly good burning rate considering the dampness & stickiness while rubbing it between your fingers. I like to smoke it till it loses its flavor, let it cool, and then flick out that last little plug of flavorless dottle. The first few puffs always seemed a little harsh and toasty to me, but it settles down rather quickly into a mellow chocolate and vanilla flavor that wears well the rest of the way down. I have also,after being asked my thoughts about McClellend 5110, if I have noticed much of a difference between Frog Morton and 5110 and after smoking both side by side, they are close..so . Absolutely no tongue bite and burns very cool in a cob pipe. No bite at all & a wonderful "car note" (as I was smoking it while driving and the window was slightly open). A very good after dinner tobacco. CB puts them in to preserve shelf life. I always got a chemical taste out of 1Q, but that's probably just me. Based solely of the merits of an aromatic blend & my experience evaluating BCA, I'd feel bad about rating this blend with less than 3 1/2 stars. I actually prefer it over Balkan Supreme now. About four months ago, the "vanilla" flavoring just disappeared from the vanilla cavendish blend. BCA or Bobs Blend is a good smoke. But VBC adds caramel and butterscotch, this blend BCA is all about vanilla . They are also usually very moist and due to the propylene glycol they are treated with can . Overall a very enjoyable smoke, but much milder than the other tobaccos in my cellar. Overall, it's cheap, tastes good, and smells good; hard to ask for much more from a tobacco. At least it's better than 1-Q. The tobacco taste is light as it's sublimated by the toppings, but it does account for the toastiness and grass. Mac Baren: Mixture Scottish Blend. Seems gooey, but light up easy ans is burning well. It's cool,sweet,creamy,and vanilla flavored. But it is a little better and I recommend this to mix with any burley OTC or by itself, not too much by itself. Appearance: Black Cavendish, medium to fine ribbon cut. It is guaranteed to please you and the people around you while smoking it. As an additi onal note, in the first months of my piping journey I found this a perfect mixer to mellow-out the stronger blends, and I'd imagine others will enjoy it for that purpose as well. I could smoke slow and get velvety smooth pleasant smoke, and I could puff and get some heat into the bowl and get more pronounced flavors--like brandy, maybe a hit of fruit. The tobacco was moist to the touch coming out of bulk and I smoked it that way with no air time, but I do recommend some air time for BCA. But often, I just want this. I prefer to smoke this slowly, I find it ends drier and DGT seems to bring a little more flavor out of the leaf. The taste is simple but enjoyable without any of that chemical flavor. At 1.99 an ounce I bought 22 ounces. Strength was very minimal in Vitamin N flavor wasn't all that bad & I'm sure many pipers will find it suitable but the assortment of flavorings didn't prompt me to go for subsequent bowls.
